While genealogy charts do include the names of people and places they are primarily devoted to events, and therefore are included here.  Births, marriages, deaths - these are the landmarks in our lives and the lives of our ancestors.  Sometimes they can tell us a great deal, or can lead our thoughts of these ancestors as real people dealing with real problems.  Consider the example of Washington Augustus Bragg:

Washington Augustus Bragg, born March 22, 1853 in Wilkinson County, Georgia; died March 13, 1941 in Gray, Jones County, Georgia. He was the son of  John Ross Bragg and Louisa Eliza Rivers. He married (1) Tannie Bartlett January 02, 1872; she died November 18, 1872. He married (2) Julia Washington Finney December 28, 1875 in Jones County, Georgia.  She died May 27, 1903.  She was the daughter of Jaines Henry Finney and Julia Ann Morris. He married (3) Lucy Pursley after June 1903; she died September 21, 1906. He married (4) Elizabeth Emerson October 1907 in Jones County, Georgia; she died May 19, 1935.

Can you tell that his first wife died just months after their marriage (perhaps in childbirth?); he was married to his second wife for 26 years or so - she died leaving him with 11 children, six of them under 18 years old.  He quickly married again (you can imagine!), but the third wife died within two years.  A fourth time he married.  They were together 28 years, yet again he was widowed.  Four wives, 11 children, countless grandchildren - a full life with many joys and more than a few sorrows.

Take a moment to look at the events in the charts - see how many interesting stories they can tell.
