Here I will explain current goals, known items concerning those and show any progress.  Don't hesitate to add, comment or correct!  Just use email!

  • Josephine Jones - verify who her parents were.
    • Probable parents:  Joseph Jones and Mary Elizabeth Braddock.
    • Census Information:
      • 1860 - family found, she was born November 1863, after 1860 census.
      • 1870 - family not found in Nassau County
      • 1880 - found married to Joseph Higginbotham (December 1877).
    • Joseph Jones seems to have died before she was born, during the Civil War;   different resources cite different battles and different dates; some dates are over nine months before Josephine's reported birthdate.
    • Records seem to indicate her mother remarried to A.J. Higginbotham in January 1876 - are Josephine and her husband also step-siblings?
  • David and Barbara Tannock - When did they die?  Where are they buried?
    • Emigrated from Scotland about 1882 to live in Albany and Philadelphia.
    •  David found in 1910 census with daughter Catherine's family.  David Jr. also there.  Barbara not there.  David Sr. shows two marriages, marital status: married (not widowed).
  • Matthew Bragg - Where was he born? Who were his parents?
    • First seen in tax lists in 1798 in Greene County, Georgia.
    • Married to Anna Chunning in 1803 in Greene County, Georgia.
    • Either county lines moved or they moved to Wilkinson County.
    • At least one child, Samuel Chunning Bragg;  Elizabeth another possible.
    • Possible answer - a Matthew Bragg born in Lunenburg Parish, Richmond County, Virginia to Moore Bragg and Sarah Kelly.

     

  • William Weadley - When and where did he first enter the U.S.?
    • Born June 19, 1837 in Scarborough, Yorkshire, England to Charles Weadley and Ann Horner.
    • He married Ellen McQuaid Abt. 1860 in Tennesee. She was the daughter of John McQuaid and Catherine Ambrose.
    • Died May 20, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois.
