Rebecka and John immigrated to Liverpool, Eng. where four more children were born. Need any information on Rebecka BOYD or John MARK(S).. Re: Mauchline family historyFrom: alisonm@ps.gen.nz CommentsHi You posted a message at dangly.com, this enquiry is not related to mauchline but rather your surname Carncross, I was hoping you might be a descendant of Joseph Carncross who came to NZ from Bendigo Australia in 1861 he was married to a Edith cutten in 1853 and they bought Walter Fredrick Carncross with them as a child. Joseph disappeared from Bedigo, he had left a wife nee Anne Barns) and 3 daughters in England and was a ships steward on the Australian Ship which was abandoned by its crew in May 1852 when the gold rush was on, I have copies of a few letters he sent his daughters but was not heard of again, I traced him through his marriage to Edith Cutten and birth of Walter, which state his parents names, I have him buried in Waimata Cemetery, it appears he settled in Otago with his new family. I am a descent of one of the daughters from England, Jane who married William Charles Edwards in 1872 in England and their daughter Annie Edwards immigrated to NZ in 1911. I was hoping you might be able to fill me in on the NZ Carncross line. Hope to hear from your soon Alison Miller nee Bristow [kilmarnockqueries/_private/kilmarnockdisc2_aftr.htm] |
