The marriage register of Kilmaurs parish dated June 2, 1849, says, "This day John Riggans in this parish and Agnes Henry in the low church parish Kilmarnock gave in their names to be proclaimed in order to marriage." John and Agnes were my g-g-grandparents. They came to the United States in 1854. John also had a brother, James, who married Margaret Scollick in 1853 and came to the United States. I would appreciate any information about these families and would especially like to contact any relatives who still live in the area.
